Welcome to Shade Mountain Winery

Tucked away in the fertile Susquehanna Valley, our land offers ideal growing conditions for grapes. We are pleased to produce our own premium wines, from vine to bottle. The vineyard began on our family farm in 1989 and has grown to include 65 acres now known as Shade Mountain Vineyards and Winery. We grow all our own grapes, including varieties of Vinifera, hybrids and native vines. These grapes are then fermented, aged and bottled here on our farm.

Currently, our vineyard is home to over 40 different varieties of grapes, including the following: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Traminette, Viognier and the list does not stop there!! We enjoy the challenge of growing grapes in the northeast, so we are always looking for new varieties to cultivate successfully.

We welcome you to visit our renovated mid-19th century bank barn and sample our extensive list of wines - grown, produced and bottled on our family farm. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on our deck overlooking 60 acres of beautifully tended vineyards.
